About the Forest

The Forest Recreation Ground is a 77 acre site close to Nottingham City Centre. It is currently home to a run down Pavilion including a cafe and sports changing facilities and two children’s play parks. The Forest is used by local people but a lot could be done to improve it. Nottingham City Council, a local charity called the Partnership Council, the Neighbourhood Development Company (NDC) and a group of local enthusiasts known as the Friends of the Forest have got together to raise the money to improve the Forest – by putting in a bid for funding from the Lottery. At present, the team is working with local people to develop a plan for the Forest, which will then be used to present the case to the Lottery. You can read more about, and even download, these plans on this blog.
